On the Ground in Broad Ripple

What we actually see in Broad Ripple homes.

Broad Ripple is one of the oldest village neighborhoods on the Northside, built up in the 1910s and 20s along the Monon and the Central Canal. The 1920s bungalows and cottages that give it its charm also hide a century of plumbing behind their plaster — and we’ve been into most of it.

These homes were plumbed in galvanized steel and drained through cast iron, and after a hundred years both are usually due. Tight lots and original walls mean replacements have to be done carefully and cleanly; we route new copper or PEX with as little demolition as the house will allow.

Proximity to the White River and the canal means some Broad Ripple basements take on water, so sump pumps and proper drainage are a recurring theme. The mature trees lining the old streets send roots straight into clay sewer laterals — a backed-up main is a classic Broad Ripple call, especially after a wet spring.

The Common Questions

Before you call.

A few of the questions we hear most from Broad Ripple homeowners. If yours isn’t here, the phone is the fastest way through.

How fast can you get to Broad Ripple?
Most non-emergency visits get a window within 2–3 business days. Active leaks, no-water situations, and water-heater failures are triaged ahead of routine appointments. After-hours calls are answered, and we book the next morning whenever possible.
Are you licensed and insured in Indiana?
Yes — fully licensed for residential and commercial plumbing in Indiana, with general liability coverage, workers’ comp, and a bonded crew. Documentation is available on request before any work begins.
Do you give an upfront price before you start?
Always. We diagnose the issue first, walk you through what’s actually happening, and give you a fixed price for the work before any parts come off. If something changes mid-job, we stop and ask first — no surprises on the invoice.
What payment do you accept?
Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), ACH, and personal check on completion. Larger projects can be staged with a deposit and milestone payments — written into the proposal.
Do you do emergency / weekend calls in Broad Ripple?
We answer the phone outside business hours. For active leaks, sewer backups, no-water issues, and burst lines, we’ll get someone out as fast as physically possible — including weekends. After-hours rates are quoted before dispatch.
What’s your guarantee, exactly?
If the work isn’t right the first time, we come back and make it right at no extra cost. Workmanship is guaranteed for one year on labor; manufacturer warranties pass through on parts and fixtures.
